		Crystal Lotus Studios was founded in 1997 with the intention of bringing a fully equipped contemporary hot glass studio within the reach of professional and novice enthusiasts in this medium for artistic and self-expression.

			Founded by Randolph Repass(Radhanatha das) as one baby step on the path to a greater vision as a centre for self expression, Crystal Lotus Studios has recently completed the construction of a 900sq ft. studio space. The hot shop contains two large electric annealers, two benches, one small and one large glory-hole, an 80kg furnace, a 30kg electric furnace and a mini electric colour furnace with three colour capability. The cold shop which is under construction is roughly 300 sq ft. and presently consists of a glass lathe, a diamond saw, and diamond drill. Presently we are preparing work to undertake the completion of the building which consists of the construction of a 22ft diameter gallery and a 600sq ft. multipurpose space for use as a gallery or as facility for "thought space" with tables and drawing space for courses.


Located within the spiritual community know as Govindadvipa, or Govinda's Island, Crystal Lotus Studios is built on the lake shore of Upper Lough Erne, one of Ireland's most beautiful and graceful natural surroundings.


In spring of 2000 Crystal Lotus Studios opened its doors for the first time for public use by establishing and holding courses in introductory hot glass blowing and casting. With the proposal to hold ongoing courses in many areas of hot glass and attracting new and old users of glass alike, Crystal Lotus Studios now moves into its further development as a studio for hire. Not only can one learn to blow glass, cast glass, paint on glass, and explore many other avenues in which to utilise glass as an expressive medium, but one can also avail of these facilities in order to maintain their expressive desires Autumn 2000 brought in another first for Crystal Lotus Studios with our Shop Hire programme. Artists of any background are eligible to come see our studio and hire it out for use. In recent history this has included both experienced glass artists as well as sculptors and crafts persons desiring to "try it out", using the resident glass artist to create the artists design, this potential is ideal for architects and interior designers as well.
